Four eyes

We went to the optometrist yesterday. Yes, the six of us. To make things even worse for the poor doctor, his secretary hadn't been able to make it due to the poor weather, so he was alone...

I went in first, followed by Florencia. She behaved like a princess, as usual, and did a great job with the eye examination. Instead of letters, the doctor would show her pictures (a hand, a plane, a car). I was so hoping he would show her a dog, because then she would have had to say the word, which for me means 'permission to tickle her', as I wrote before.

Once Flor was done, it was Juan's turn, then Caro and then Santi. Carolina might need glasses in the future, but the doctor wants to rule out growing adjustments as the reason why her left eye didn't seem to be as good as her right one. Other than that, all kids were perfect, and no major changes were done to my prescription either.

Gaby was last, and to everybody's surprise (and amusement), she will need reading glasses now! Of course, us being the supportive family we are, we spent the whole trip back home calling her 'four eyes' and things like that...

Ayer fuimos al oculista. Sí, los seis. Para hacer las cosas incluso peor para el pobre doctor, su secretaria no había podido ir a trabajar debido al mal tiempo, así que estaba solo...

Yo fui el primero en ser revisado, seguido por Florencia. Ella se portó como una princesa, como siempre, y estuvo excelente en el examen de la vista. En lugar de letras, el doctor le mostró dibujos (una mano, un avión, un auto). Yo estaba esperando que le mostrara un perro, así ella se veía forzada a decir esa palabra, que como es sabido para mí significa 'luz verde' para hacerle cosquillas.

Una vez que termin Flor, entró Juan, luego Caro y finalmente Santi. Carolina podría necesitar anteojos en el futuro, pero el doctor quiere asegurarse que la razón por la que su ojo izquierdo no ve tan bien como el derecho no sea el proceso normal de crecimiento. Salvo eso, todos los chicos estaban en perfectas condiciones, y no hubo mayores cambios en mi prescripción tampoco.

Gaby fue la última en ser revisada, y para nuestra sorpresa (y regocijo), ella va a necesitar anteojos para leer desde ahora! Por supuesto, siendo que nosotros somos una familia muy solidaria, nos pasamos el viaje de vuelta a casa llamándola 'cuatro ojos' y cosas así...
