On the move

(En español más abajo)

CanadaI’m at the Toronto Pearson Airport right now, about to board a plane to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Like many times in the past, this was a last minute thing (to the point that I got confirmation on Saturday evening), and it’s going to be a short trip (just one week). It’s going to be an interesting one, both from the personal and professional point of view. I will be working on the first Canadian release of the latest version of our flagship software; heck, from what I heard today, this might even be a world premiere!

The other interesting part of this trip is that I will finally get to know Atlantic Canada, the place where we were originally going to live. Though I’m flying to Halifax, I will be staying in Truro, 100 km NW from the big city, and much closer to New Brunswick. I hope I have some free time so I can drive to Saint John, New Brunswick and finally get to see how it looks like!

But it doesn’t stop there. As I was booking my flight on Monday, I got a call about another trip, a little further away. The same day I come back from NS, I’ll be on my way to São Paulo, Brazil for another 1-week long project. The great news about that is that, God permitting, I will be able to go to Buenos Aires for the long Easter weekend! I’m really excited about the chance of being able to see my brothers, my little niece Sofi and the rest of my family. It’s going to be even harder for me now that I know I will be going. Just can’t wait!

Note: Just as I’m writing this post, my brothers called me through Skype, so we talked for a few minutes, while Sofi kept touching every button! Open-mouthed smile

Just two little (but cool) travellers notes: To my surprise, I was able to use my NEXUS card on a domestic flight. It allowed me to go through an express baggage check line; again, I got to see how much people hated me. Smile The other interesting thing was that my flight was delayed, so the people at WestJet (an airline I have never flown before) gave me a voucher for me to go to the lounge, which is where I am now. For just $25, I get to relax, eat and drink as much as I want (though I didn’t), watch TV, have a coffee… really nice!

Taken with my netbook’s webcam. I like it!
Sacada con la camarita de mi netbook. Me gusta!

Argentina

No puedo esperar!

  2. Wow, traveling a lot again! And two very different destinations :-)

It is easy to get to Buenos Aires from Sao Paolo? We bused everywhere so I don't realize how far is it by plane. Anyhow, I hope you do get a chance to stop by Argentina!

Zhu, I think you can go to Bs As from San Pablo by bus, but it's really too far!! I dont know how much time it takes, but according to Google Maps it's a 2200 km trip.
