Easter bunnies

CanadaIt was a busy weekend! We went to church on Thursday evening for a Passover Seder, which we enjoyed a lot. It was a very nice, moving experience for the whole family, which ended when me and the kids had to go to rehearsal. In my case, for the Sunday service; in Santi, Caro and Juan's case, for Good Friday...

We had a very different service on Good Friday, very far from those quiet, reflexive, almost somber celebrations. Santi was part of a short play titled "Jesus Christ wasn't good at soccer" and Juan and Caro sang a couple of songs from "Jesus Christ Superstar". It was a great service, and we were more than happy to see a big crowd (last year, we had more people from the choir than from the congregation).

The kids woke up on Sunday to find a trail of Easter eggs and candies that led them to where the chocolate eggs were. That's our equivalent of the traditional 'egg hunting' (it would have been difficult to go out where there still are more than 10 cm of snow)...

We went to church once again (a 'typical' Easter Sunday service) and came back. We finally ate our chocolates right after dinner. If we have any luck, they will fall asleep sometime around midnight. There's no school tomorrow anyway...

Each one got their initial in chocolate!
...like Santi here...
...or Juan...
Caro didn't, however. She got a 'G', because the Easter Bunny couldn't find a 'C' :-)
I turned the 'G' into a 'C' armed with a knife and my dexterity...
Of course I won't show the picture, that 'C' sucked!

  1. Great photos. :)
We didn't hide any candy this year b/c we were worried that Bumble would get into them. When Shawn hides the eggs, some don't found until June.
I really miss my litte church in Smallburg. (you know where) I haven't been in years. Christmas Eve is not the same, and I miss the Easter service, too. Maybe one of these days we will find another little church that feels like home :)

  2. I agree, Biddie, it's hard to find a church to call home. We're lucky we got this one. The Christmas services were just beautiful, and the same goes to last Good Friday.

Having my kids act and sing with me during the services is a big plus!
