This Saturday: Tango in Waterloo

Our friend Carlos Siri is hosting another tango and Latin music evening this Saturday at the Button Factory in Uptown Waterloo. He has been doing this for quite some time, with very good reviews. People of all origins and background come to dance, some from nearby towns like Guelph.

Few people must do more than Carlos to promote the Argentine and Latin American music in the region, and for that he must be praised.

The evening starts at 8:15 PM (8:15 sharp, not 8:15-ish), with a 1/2 hour tango class. Then the milonga begins, and it runs until midnight! You get to dance, while Carlos walks around and gives you tips and tricks that come from his vast knowledge and experience. There are some Latin music breaks as well, and lots of good Argentine food and desserts. Well, of course the food is good, it's made by my wife! :-)

These "Tango Evenings" are really enjoyable experiences. I strongly recommend you consider coming, if you live in the area, you won't regret it. There's no need to bring a partner, and the price is a mere $10.00.

Nothing beats listening or dancing to some tangos, and then having an empanada and a mate on a Saturday night. See you there!

  2. This sounds like fun, but I have 2 left feet, so I think that I will pass on this. I don't think that I could get Shawn on the dance floor, anyway :)

  3. Most of the people that comes to the Waterloo Dances are beginners.
If you have two left feet, but you have two, you can walk.
The next step is to walk backward and forward in front of a leader. And you will really enjoy Gabriela's finger food, cakes and other desserts. She IS GREAT. I hope she can make some Chipa too.
