Sunday evening

(En español más abajo)

Canada
It’s Sunday evening and I am working in the dining room, but not with hurry or pressing need (it’s almost like I am doing to kill some time). It’s cool outside, but the big rainfalls this week have cleared all the snow (which we had, and in a big quantity). The kids are either working or with friends; Gaby went over some friends and she is still not back, which obviously means she is having a great time!

I am listening to Argentine soccer while I work. When I have the feeling a goal is coming, I simply <Alt>+<Tab> and watch it; otherwise, I pretend I am listening to the radio. Florencia baked brownies, so the house smells really good (and the brownies taste great). In order to warm my stomach and my spirit, I made me a cup of instant pea soup, my favourite (I still have some boxes from Gaby’s trip to Argentina last December). I also have a bottle with unsweetened orange juice, also from Argentina, because you cannot buy that flavour here in Canada for some reason.

While I am doing work, I am already planning the week that is just beginning, and that looks busy. I also have some other ideas and projects in my mind, things that I keep telling myself I have to put on paper some day. The day went easily, and we are getting close to dinner time. Gaby told me that we will have veal schnitzels with mashed potatoes, so my poor stomach is already excited with those news.

We have a quiet life these days. Gaby, the kids and I are all super busy, which for example has caused this blog to stay in the back burner for so long. I never forget about it though. I keep writing down stories that I need to write, but that I never sit down to actually follow through. I keep promise myself that next time I have to spend a night in a hotel, I will spend an hour or two writing a couple of posts. I never do it. Maybe this week? Who knows!

That is all I have. I just wanted to give you a glimpse of my daily life, after so much time. Life keeps going on, and everything is OK. We live well, and that’s a good thing. I never stop thinking about home, my family, my friends, the sounds, the music, the food and the traditions that we miss, but living here and today is not that bad.

I send you all a hug. We’ll talk soon.

Hablamos pronto.
