Silly Monkey Stories #284 - Good bye to you too

USA17/Feb/2017 – Unknown kid (4)

Gaby and I were having lunch at a Tim Hortons near Orillia, ON, Ontario, while we were waiting to attend the Air Supply concert. As I was lining up to make my order, a young blond kid stood behind me, looking very serious, under the watchful eye of his young mother, who was already sitting with a baby in her arms. The boy had two coins in his hand ($1.25), enough to buy a donut. I winked at him and told him to cut in the line, because I wanted to see how he managed to make the purchase…

He barely made himself visible to the girl on the other side of the counter, and when that happened, he said, very excited: ‘Dip! Dip!’ (he wanted a Vanilla dip donut). He was so happy when he got it and I decided to give him the one that was coming with my combo as well. So when I got my meal, I went to see him and I gave him a paper bag containing the very last vanilla dip donut they had, telling him something in the lines that he had forgotten he had two, or something. I got there just in time because they were leaving already…

His mom, who immediately noticed what was going on, thanked me and then said to his son: ‘What do you say?’

The boy was in his own world and already going through his first donut. He didn’t even look at me and as he was running outside, he said:

- Bye!

Argentina 17/Feb/2017 – Chico desconocido (4)

- Bye!
