Santiago is a heavy sleeper, but he's also known for his sleep walking and the fact that he sleeps with his eyes partially open. Watching him sleep is, well, unsettling.
It's not uncommon for him to start to talk in the middle of the night or to come downstairs at 2:00 AM, in his underwear, and stand behind me without making any noise while I'm working, until I turn around and find him looking at me with that blank stare... Well, he scares the heck out of me.

This day, however, he just made me laugh hard. I went to wake him up that morning and he sat up immediately, looking at me with that blank stare I know so well. He then started to look around in disbelief, until he finally asked me, surprised and angry at the same time:
- Why did you bring me all the way to Africa??!!
I just didn't know what to say...
Santiago tiene el sueño pesado, pero también es conocido por su sonambulismo y por el hecho de que duerme con los ojos parcialmente abiertos. Mirarlo dormir es, bueno, digamos que te fruncís todo.
No es raro que se ponga a hablar en sus sueños en plena madrugada o que se me aparezca abajo a eso de las 2:00 AM, en calzones, y se me pare detrás sin hacer ruido mientras trabajo, hasta que me doy vuelta y me encuentro su cara al lado de la mía, mirándome sin expresión alguna... Bueno, me hace ca**r del susto.
Este día, sin embargo, me hizo matar de la risa. Lo fui a despertar esa mañana y se sentó en la cama enseguida, pero mirándome con esa cara sin expresión que le conozco tan bien. Comenzó a mirar a su alrededor sin poder creer lo que 'veía' y finalmente me preguntó, mitar sorprendido y mitar enojado:
