Embarrassing moments
Santi has a silly habit. He’s just too kind to strangers sometimes, and engages in excessively polite conversation. We went to the movies a few days ago, as I was saying yesterday, and we both laugh when the girl at the counter said:- Here are the two tickets. Enjoy the movie!!
To which Santi replied:
- Thank you, you too!
I gave him a really hard time about that. Fast forward a week or so, we were at a waterpark yesterday with Santi and three of his friends. We lined up, waited to pay for our passes and when it was my turn:
- Here you are, Sir. Enjoy your stay…
- (In front of all the kids) Thanks, you too!
I can’t make fun of Santi anymore, because it’s pretty obvious where the stupidity gene comes from…
Santi tiene un hábito gracioso. A veces es demasiado cortés con los extraños, y termina diciendo cosas que no tienen nada que ver. El otro día fuimos al cine, como contaba ayer, y los dos nos reímos mucho cuando la chica del mostrador dijo:
- Acá están las entradas. Disfruten la película!!
A lo que Santi respondió:
- Gracias, igualmente!
Lo volví loco toda la noche con ese tema. Pero la tortilla se me dio vuelta; ayer fuimos a un parque acuático con Santi y tres de sus amigos. Hicimos la fila, esperamos para pagar nuestros pases, y cuando fue mi turno:
- Acá tiene, señor. Disfrute de su estadía
- (Delante de los chicos) Gracias, usted también!
Ya no podré burlarme de Santiago, porque se ha hecho evidente de dónde viene el gen de la estupidez…
