Referee soup

(En español más abajo)

CanadaJuan has a job now, same as Carolina. They have both taken the referee course, so they are officiating at house league games in Waterloo (and in Caro's case, in Cambridge too). They're really excited because they can make some money which they will save toward their trip to Argentina.

Unfortunately, the weather hasn't helped a lot. It's been raining for six days straight, so many games have been cancelled, including three of the five Juan was scheduled for. You guess right, he's disappointed.

But he got to ref two games on Tuesday, because he covered for one of Santi's teammates who was sick. I had a busy evening, like most Tuesdays, and to make things worse we only had one car; I dropped Juan off at the field at 5:45 and it was already raining. I had told him to bring clothes and a towel, and he had put his bag inside of a garbage bag, so I knew he'd be OK.

From there, I dropped Flor off at gym, then Gaby and a friend at the place were the girls were meeting and finally, I went to church for my 7:00 PM meeting, which I barely made in time. Left at 8:20PM and picked up Florencia. I got to the field where Juan was at 8:45PM, half an hour after he had finished.

He was absolutely soaked. He had -of course- forgotten about the clothes and the towel, so he was literally dripping. I told him to take off his clothes, and I made him put on my coat. Turned on the car's 'butt warmer' and the heat as well, bought him a burger and I took him home, telling him to take a shower and go to bed. You should have seen him! :-)

Once I dropped Flor and Juan home at around 9:30PM... I went out again, because I still had to pick up Gaby! Our weeknights seem to be much busier than our weekdays lately.

We have the other car back from the service, so I shouldn't be driving around like this anymore. But I'm much poorer now.
