Cold feet

UKI haven’t done much today. Woke up, went to the dining room for breakfast and pretty much came back to my room. I have been at the computer, catching up with some old work stuff until around 4:00 PM (no lunch break).
I was chatting with my brother when I decided I was going to go to the pool…

As I’m changing my clothes, the fire alarm goes off (the EXTREMELY loud fire alarm, I should say). Well trained due to my years as a fire marshall at work, I just grabbed the key to my room and left. No, I’m lying. There was a five seconds period in which I hesitated: “Should I get fully dressed or should I just leave now?”. You see, I was only wearing my bathing suit, a shirt and socks. No shoes, no long pants, and it’s 1ºC (34ºF) and raining outside…

Safety prevailed over aesthetics and away I went. My closest exit was just in front of my room, but then I had to walk all around the building to the meeting point. Wearing only socks. On wet grass (and wet pavement later). Even I felt cold today!

In the end, it seems it was a fire alarm, so we were all let in. My key wouldn’t open my door anymore, so I had to go all the way back to the front desk to get a new one…

I’m so going to the pool now. Don’t even try to make me leave the hot tub!

No hice gran cosa hoy.

No, miento.

  1. Yikes! You are much more brave...Braver? Than I am! I would have bundled my butt up. When I was pregnant with KC, I lived at a 'home.' Like, not my own, but one for pregnant women. The fire alarm went off one morning, at about 8 am. There must have been 20 pregnant women/teens, half dressed, standing around in the cold. Lol. Oh, the humiliation! I always get dressed now when the alarm goes off.
