KW Thanksgiving Day Parade - 2008

CanadaAfter so many years of standing there, freezing for two plus hours watching the marching bands, we were finally blessed with a spectacular day yesterday; the temperature climbed all the way up to the upper twenties (very unusual in October) and this of course made the parade even more inviting. It's estimated that over 150,000 people attended this year's edition, which is an impressive number for a city (well, twin cities) that have 350,000 inhabitants. I saw many tourists, some coming from places like Illinois or Michigan.

Here are the pictures...

The heat took its toll on the people attending -and marching. The parade was interrupted five times due to people who fainted.

This incredibly cool -and pretty!- girl from WarAmps spent some of her time talking to my kids, who -of course- asked her how she had lost her arm.
Not only she did that, she also showed all the kids how she put her prosthetic arm on everyday. To say I was impressed is a gross understatement.
