Manic Monday #02

can_flaggy

If you could have a servant come to your house every day for one hour, what would you have them do?
I don't think I could have 'a servant' . It's a terrible word. If I had an assistant, though, I would only ask him to make sure that my papers and CDs are in order, because I leave them all around the house.

Has your life ever been changed by an apparently random occurrence?
Yes, several times. The biggest one was when we had a big a** car accident on January 4th, 1995 (see my "Longest Trip" series). I'd say that every time a random event changed our lives it was for the better.

You're having dinner with several friends and acquaintances. They all criticize a close friend of yours (not knowing he/she is a friend). The criticism is unjustified. What would you do?
I would stand for my friend, of course! And I would let them know that what they were doing is not only unfair, but also very rude. And if they continue to do it, then I would leave or ask them to leave, depending on whether I'm a guest or the host.

  1. I totally agree, you gotta stick up for your friends, especially when they're not there to defend themselves. :)

    Thanks for stopping by!

A servant? gossip around a friend and you still have to think about what to do?

  5. I had the same problem, Guillermo and Dawn. I didn't like the first question at all. I didn't mind the other two, but the word 'servant' gave me shudders.

We're in the 21st century, aren't we? It has to have been a bad choice of words. I know I have a lot of those...

Me, Mariposa: thanks for your comments and for dropping by.

  6. i totally agree with you that even if that person is not so close to us, but if we know from ourselves that what other people say about this friend we have are not true, then we have to tell them that they should know him or her better and they'll realize later that theyre completely wrong.

  8. thanks for stopping by my blog shades of mj. I love your answers here but, it's the accident I read through that captured my heart. I am so sorry you and Gaby endured such a horrible accident. Someone was looking over you that night. I am so pleased that the baby wasn't hurt. I would have told the doctors to put me to sleep before they done that skeletal traction thing. My heart goes out to you for enduring such pain. Wow! Before I forget, I wanted to also say that you and Gaby make a very nice couple. Congrats on being married 17 years. I only got to read up to Part 11 where you were losing your job. I can't believe that lady had the nerve to come to your house and act that way when you weren't able to manage mundane activities. I hope to read on and finish the story out. My computer is screwy tonight and was saying the next page couldn't be found. But, I will prevail. I hope you, Gaby and family are well tonight. Happy MM~

Now, off to see if I can finish reading your story.
