It's finally here

I woke up this morning and found my car, my deck, etc covered with a fine layer of snow. And it was snowing again as I was leaving home. Whether we like it or not, winter is here

Time to watch TV wrapped in a blanket, wiping the floor in the front door area twice or three times a day, put on the flannel sheets, and go out 15 minutes before we leave to turn on the car and scrape the snow and ice from the car's windows. Yay

I do like it, by the way. I don't mind any of those things. The only thing I hate about the winter is when you get lots of wet snow and the streets become a giant dirt-flavoured slushie, which you will have to walk on and of course, carry home. That I hate.

But with the rest, I'm totally fine. I love the cold weather; my kids love to go toboganning and we even started going skiing last winter. Indoor soccer is fun (no hockey, we only play real sports), and the best TV show are on during the winter (unless the strike takes them down). Winter also brings Christmas in the Northern Hemisphere, and I love singing Carols with Gaby and the kids

What about you? What do you love or hate about the winter?

  6. We don't have a car, so getting around when it is cold and wet really sucks. I hate waiting for buses, b/c they arae always late. I am prone to ear infections, ever since my eardrum was punctured ( I have one now) so that bites, too.
When I was a kid, though, I used to love sledding with all of the kids in town (or so it seemed) and would spend the whole day in the snow.

    Saludos
    Arturo
