Live from… San Diego, California

USAAnd I’m mad! I had a long flight from Toronto yesterday. I left T.O. at 5:19 PM and landed in Chicago about an hour and a half later. My second flight was scheduled for 8:10 PM (local time), so there was a two hours wait. I checked in the Red Carpet club for food and internet… and my flight was delayed… I didn’t get to leave until 9:30 PM, and this was after I was originally bumped out of the plane. They were looking for volunteers to stay for the night and take the next flight at 10:00 AM on Monday. I wasn’t around so I was ‘volunteered’. A lady in front of me offered to stay, so I was back in.

Now I won’t know how good of a deal they were offering. It normally consists of one free night at a nice hotel, and either a lot of air miles, a free ticket or even some good cash. My mother is really good at getting those deals… I will have to wait until the next time I fly United.

And speaking of United, a little history here: I flew with them just twice in the last five years. The first time, they lost my CPAP machine on my way back from Argentina. This time…

The water reservoir was smashed in. This after I made sure that my suitcase had not one but six ‘fragile’ stickers… Luckily, I am working at a hospital this week, so I went to the Respiratory Clinic and a very nice guy named Dave spent a whole lot of time trying to find a way to fix it. And he did find a temporary solution. It doesn’t look pretty, but I have two more of those plastic recipients at home, so this will do for now…

OK. It’s about 5:30 PM here, so I’m going to take a quick nap, because I’m expected to be at the hospital at 8:30 PM. The actual upgrade I’m working on begins at around 1:00 AM, so it’s going to be a long night!

Argentina
Estoy enojado!

  5. Wow, you traveled a lot recently! Must be tiring...

Anyway, I don't like American airlines companies. I always find them cheap (i.e no food no movies), with bad customer service. I'm not surprised...
