End of the season

We have our last game of the regular season tonight, playing against the Tillsonburg Titans. We had a 'mini-war' against them last Tuesday, in which we won 3-2 on the road, with three magnificent goals by Santi. Actually, the 'mini-war' would describe the conditions outside of the field, more than inside. We had everything: a crappy referee, whiny players, angered parents... But in the end, we brought the win home.

Santi needs to score one goal tonight to become the top scorer of the league (he would have 24 goals in 20 games). He would be sharing the lead with a Guelph player, Anthony, whom he played last Saturday; if he scores more than one, he'll be the sole top scorer. Both Anthony and his dad were very kind, they knew everything about Santi's season and they even asked for a picture of both kids together, in a very nice gesture.

So, tonight at 7PM, it's Waterloo Panthers vs Tillsonburg Titans, at Bechtel Park! I'll be crossing my fingers for a goal by Santi.


Hoy tenemos el último partido de la temporada regular, en que jugamos contra Tillsonburg Titans. Tuvimos una 'mini-guerra' contra ellos el martes, en la que ganamos 3-2 con tres magníficos goles convertidos por Santi. Lo de 'mini-guerra' describiría mejor las condiciones fuera de la cancha que las de adentro: un referí terrible, jugadores quejosos, padres iracundos... Pero al final, trajimos los tres puntos para casa.

Santi necesita convertir un gol más esta noche para convertirse en el goleador de la liga (con 24 goles en 20 partidos). Compartiría los honores con un jugador de Guelph, Anthony, contra quien jugó el sábado pasado; si hace más de un gol, sería el único goleador. Tanto Anthony como su papá fueron muy amables, sabían todo sobre Santi y su presente temporada y hasta pidieron tener una foto de los dos, lo que me pareció un muy bonito gesto.

Así que hoy a las 7PM, es Waterloo Panthers vs Tillsonburg Titans, en Bechtel Park! Voy a cruzar los dedos esperando un gol de Santi.
