Embarrassing moments

Florencia makes a triumphal debut in this series today. It’s Carolina’s birthday this Sunday, and since Juan is leaving for Nicaragua tomorrow on a TCOW trip (the third of my kids to be part of this wonderful programme) we decided to go out for lunch a week in advance, so he would be around. The place we chose was nothing very glamorous: Harvey’s, a fast food chain here in Canada (very good burgers, though)

We all ordered, and then both Juan and Caro went to grab a seat while the rest of us were getting the food. The kids were all acting very silly at that point, but what else is new. In his hurry, Juan forgot to pickup his ‘frings’ (a side made of French fries and onion rings). Florencia grabbed them and sat in front of him, telling him with a very sassy voice:

- You forgot your ‘funions’, you boob!

Juan looked surprised and puzzled… especially considering that he was two rows behind the guy Florencia was talking to, and that guy didn’t even look like him. She was sitting at the wrong table and talking to a perfect stranger!!! The kids were still crying of laughter by the time I sat down with them.

Only thing Florencia could say to me while laughing her butt off was:

- You better blog about this, Dad…

Florencia hace su ingreso a esta serie con bombos y platillos. Este domingo Carolina cumple 18, y como Juan se va a Nicaragua mañana (el tercero de mis hijos en participar del maravilloso programa TCOW), decidimos salir a comer una semana antes, así él podía estar. El lugar que elegimos no fue muy glamoroso: Harvey’s, una cadena de comidas rápidas de aquí en Canadá (muy buenas hamburguesas, eso sí).

Todos hicimos nuestro pedido, y luego Juan y Caro se fueron a sentar mientras los demás esperábamos la comida. Los chicos estaban haciéndose los tontitos, pero bueno, digamos que no es novedad. En su apuro, Juan se olvidó de llevarse sus ‘frings’ (una mezcla de papas fritas y aritos de cebollas que hacen ahí). Flor los agarró y se le sentó adelante, diciéndole con voz sobreactuadamente dramática:

- Te olvidaste tus ‘funions’, pajarraco!

Juan estaba sorprendidísimo y muy confundido… especialmente teniendo en cuenta de que estaba sentado dos filas más atrás de la persona con la que Florencia hablaba, que además ni se le parecía. Flor se había sentado en la mesa equivocada y estaba retando a un perfecto desconocido!!! Los chicos aún aullaban de la risa para cuando yo me senté con ellos.

Lo único que Florencia pudo decirme entre carcajadas fue:

- Más te vale que escribas esto en tu blog, Pa…
