Silly Monkey Stories #124 – No money for pumpkins

It was just a couple of days before Hallowe'en, and we were going out with Gaby and the kids. The day was cold and windy, so we decided to stay in the car and just drive around.

We went to a very exclusive neighbourhood in Kitchener called “Hidden Valley”, a very apt name for the place, because you can only get there by taking a small road that looks like it leads to a dump. :-)

The place is absolutely gorgeous, with lots of big and beautiful houses. They all had an incredible view of the Grand River Valley, and the colours of the fall were making them look even more beautiful. We drove around watching in awe, and soon we started to pay attention at the Hallowe'en decorations. Some were as sumptuous as the houses looked, but some were very small and to our surprise, most houses didn't have anything at all.

“They must not have kids”, me and Gaby guessed, and that was it. But Florencia was furious. We asked her why, and she replied to us with her seven year old logic:

- Look at these people! With all the money they have, you're gonna tell me they can afford those houses but they can't afford a pumpkin or two?

- Mirá a esa gente!

  1. She is absolutely right! If they don't want to do it themselves, they could pay someone to decorate their house for them. How about Flor? I bet she'd like the job. :)
