First, a couple of pictures related to this week’s topic… then please read below.

Maddie Spohr is the beautiful girl you see in the picture above. Born over 11 weeks premature, she passed away just last week. This tragic story has affected many in the blogosphere, including those who –like me- found out through other people, like Lotus (aka) Sarcastic Mom.

Many marches to remember Maddie and celebrate her life are currently being organized. They’re called ‘Walk 4 Maddie’ and you can read all about it here (you will be surprised at how many there are already!). Purple shirts are being designed, because purple was Maddie’s favourite colour (Lotus even ‘dyed’ her blog purple these days).

If you click on the banner, you will be redirected to the March of dimes site, and even be able to make a donation (no matter how big or small) to help these little kids receive a better treatment. The original one –created by the Spohrs- had an original goal of $3,000 and is currently past $30,000, so I’m linking to Lotus’ fundraiser instead. Very few people I know in the cyberworld do more for others than her.

  1. I remember my kids sitting in plastic tubs just like that. Give them a box, and they are much happier than with a fancy toy.
