Ale, I know you hate this kind of posts, but I can’t help it. I love statistics!!! Sorry… ;-)

Well, November is behind us and this humble blog has broken another record of visits! My ‘best seller’ this month was that post about the Santa Claus Parades in Ontario. Even though it was written in October, it attracted a sea of readers by mid-November, especially on the weekend of November 15th, where the parade was in K-W. I don’t know how this happened, but all you had to do was to type “Santa Claus Parades Ontario” in Google and my blog would come up almost on top, even before most of the Canadian newspapers! Of course this caused a lot of people to come visit my blog during those days, and I’m quite happy because most of them evidently found what they were looking for, as the number of pages read was very high on those days too!

I’ve said it before and I will say it again. I write this blog mostly for me, then my family and friends. I do react to demand, however. Whenever I detect that there’s people coming looking for something I have written about in the past (like the parades), I try to make sure that I update that information so they don’t leave empty handed. Most of the times, though, I just get lucky because one of my posts is picked up by other bloggers or sites like Technorati, Digg! or even Google, and then I get a lot of people to visit me. It’s a lot of fun, especially since I’m not desperately looking for more and more people to come. I’m more than satisfied with the number of visits, the number of comments and the participation I have in my blog. I don’t need to go reach to blogs that are more popular –or simply better- than mine and suck up to them with comments full of fake appreciation so they will add me to their blogrolls. I don’t need that, and I wonder why anybody would. But I’ve seen it happen…

My Technorati, FeedBurner, etc numbers remained pretty much the same, so I won’t discuss those in detail. The most important statistic about my blog these days is that its consistently visited throughout the week. I don’t depend on an specific post or meme to have more visitors. Even more, those posts that once made somebody say “It must be Wednesday, because Gabriel’s blog has many visits” (he meant ‘more than mine’, back in those days) are not drawing the crowds they used to before. The reason is that… I’m not paying a lot of attention to them these days. I do post my Wordless Wednesday, PhotoHunt or Weekly Winners but then I never find the time to visit those who visited me, and I feel terribly about that. It’s due to that that I have dropped one or two of those memes already, and I will probably drop another one (probably Wordless) comes January.

Here are my stats, according to Sitemeter:

Not bad. I have almost twice the number of visits that I had back in August. I don’t expect this to be this high in December, though I had a good start. I had a total of 160 commentators who left 470 comments (all real comments!).

No surprises in the "Top Commentator" race, as we had the same top three as usual, though in different positions. Mike was the top commentator once again with 40, closely followed by Lorena and then by MCB. Fourth place went to a new blogbuddy: Hanniani, who writes from Calgary, Alberta, and the fifth place was taken by my 'neighbour' Kuanyin. For the second time in a row I don't have anybody from USA in the top 15, and this month I have to add Philippines to the absences. Time to reach out to my English speaking readers?

I'm still travelling a lot these days, which is the same reason why I had so few posts in November; this will make updating my blog and paying visits to my blogbuddies a little more complicated. Please bear with me…

Mes Visitas / Page Views Crecimiento respecto mes anterior

04/2008 2,763 / 3.917 -17.37% / -14.44%
05/2008 3,107 / 4,175 +12.45% / +6.59%
06/2008 3,230 / 4,276 +3.96% / +2.42%
07/2008 3,152 / 4,298 -2.41% / +0.51%

+34.06% / +39.28%
11/2008 4,761 / 6,604
+17.67% / +21.73%

Nada mal.
