Live from... Georgia, USA

I'm in Columbus, Georgia, and I will be here for the whole week.

On Friday afternoon, I was asked if I could come over to assist the people at a military site, so I got up at 3:00 AM today and flew off Toronto at 7:00; the flight was uneventful, though the plane was just too small for a person my size.

I arrived in Hartsfield-Jackson Airport at around 10:30 AM. This is probably the busiest airport I have ever been to. I had to take a train from where I got off the plane to where I picked up my luggage, and then a bus to the place where I picked up the rental car. To give you an idea of how big these rental car places are, I went in, picked my car from a lot and then proceeded to check out. There were eight cabins at the exit, which means eight lines. Each line had at least six cars...

I got a nice Saturn Aura...

I drove for a little over two hours, and finally got to the hotel at 1:30 PM; then I called the hospital. Since the person I was going to see was leaving in just one hour, I will stay here for the rest of the afternoon and then go tomorrow at 7:30 AM. It's a good thing, because I'm really tired. The room is nice, I have two king size beds (not that I need two!), and there's a gym and a swimming pool in the hotel, so I know I will exercise a lot, to fight the effect of all the junk food I'm going to eat these days.

I have to attend a teleconference now, so that's over and out for the moment.

  1. Have a good time. I bet that you will miss Gaby and the kids. :)
My blog buddie Marni lives in Georgia. Have you ever been to her place? She is super sweet. You should tell her that you are in the hood.

  2. Biddie, I don't recall having visited her blog, so I will. In fact, I haven't been around your buddies' places for a while.

I visit Heidi and 4Dinners 'almost' regularly. And I have left many messages at Jamie's, but I don't think she has ever acknowledged them... which can be expectable, given the situation.
