I love how kids come come up with the most unexpected questions. My children are particularly good at asking things that have nothing to do with anything that has been mentioned, discussed, inferred or even suspected in the previous, let’s say, 48 hours.
I was on my way to Michigan with Carolina and Florencia. We were just listening to some music, so none of the three were talking. That’s when Florencia asked:
- Is there a type of army called “The Whales” or “The Narwhals”?
Carolina quickly replied:
- It’s the US Navy SEALS, Florci. The SEALS…
Too late for me, the image of a narwhal wearing a helmet was forever in my head…
Me encanta cómo los chicos pueden salirse con las preguntas más inesperadas. Mis hijos son muy buenos para eso, y preguntan cosas que no tienen nada que ver con temas mencionados, discutidos, inferidos o incluso sospechados en las previas, digamos, 48 horas.
Estaba camino a Michigan con Carolina y Florencia. Estábamos escuchando algo de música, así que nadie hablaba. Ahí fue que Florencia preguntó:
- Hay un tipo de ejército llamado “Las Ballenas” o “Los Narwhals”?
Carolina respondió rápidamente:
- Son los Navy SEALS, Florci. Los SEALS (un acrónimo que en inglés significa ‘focas’)
Muy tarde para mí, porque ya tenía para siempre la imagen de un narwhal con casco en mi cabeza…
