We had left all our flowers inside while we were away, to protect them from the morning frost.
This is what we found when we came back...
Yes. Spiders. Hundreds of them.
I had no other option than to dispose of them with my own (bare) hands
I realized I did something wrong in the video, as I speak in Spanish first, and then in 'English'... But the video is gross enough for you to ignore that!
Okay, I admit I didn't watch the video - spiders freak me out. Someone else would have to take care of those for me!
ReplyDeleteWow, happy WW.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha, I so enjoyed listening to the Spanish conversation you had with your kids! My Mom was listening too and was translating to me some of the words I miss before you started speaking in English! Who did say OMG first? That voice is so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW!
I think I heard her say there are no spider webs! Must be spider mites. Nasty buggers. Bad for the plants too!
ReplyDeleteOh well, Happy WW anyway!
Babies! Congratulations! hahaha
ReplyDeleteI would have COMPLETELY FREAKED OUT! =8^0

Sorry about the spiders. Not sure what effects they have on plants, but probably best to be rid of them.
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't know about those spiders! At least they are small? But trying to find them all?
ReplyDeleteWe'll just have to call you Spiderman now! Hope you got them all out!
ReplyDeleteHappy Wordless Wednesday.
Check out my entry if you get a chance at Just Some Thoughts
Yuck...now i feel all creepy crawly!
ReplyDeleteI too admit I didn't watch the video. Not too fond of looking at creepy crawlies :(
ReplyDeleteAnd am sure glad it wasn't me who had to get down to it with my hands! :P
at least you came back just in the nick of time! happy WW! :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't get all freaked out until I watched the video and saw them all moving around. ICK! I hope none got away.
ReplyDeletethe potted plants you have are really beautiful. but the spiders are not that i would also want to have in my living room.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot & video.
Ps, amusing to hear billigual kids.
Happy ww.
Nice flowers you got there but me don't like spiders. Good thing you got back before they grown big and hairy! ;) Have a great WW day! :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter would have freaked had she seen that!
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't believe what happened when she saw one in the truck - WHILE I was driving!!! (seatbelt undone, crawled in the back seat in a matter of seconds.)
You have really beautiful flowers. :)
ReplyDeleteYikes!
ReplyDeleteWell, it made for an interesting day and a memorable moment.
I did not watch the video, I will come back later with my daughter who loves Spanish to watch it. You will have provided her with a great experience!
Let's try to reply to everybody!
ReplyDeleteBunny Trails, my wife is exactly the same.
Firefighter, thanks and happy WW to you too. I love your website, and today's post is just great.
Mariposa, I had to go back and listen to it again. It was my oldest daughter, Carolina (11).
Will, there were spider webs indeed! Lots of them (very tiny)
Tundratantrum, nice... You really cracked me up! :-)
Tink *~*~*, I don't mind them, I grew up in a farm, so I'm used to spiders waaay bigger than those...
catsynth, I have not idea if they're bad for the plants, but I will assume they're not. They are bad for my living room, though.
Junebug, that's the thing. I'm not sure I got them all. I'm almost positive I didn't get them all. But don't tell Gaby!
Marsha, I don't think I have the pyhisique-du-role for Spiderman! :-))
jAMiE, so good to see you here! Isn't that funny? You see a spider and then you 'feel' it crawling up your legs...
More answers...
ReplyDeleteShubd, I don't think my wife will ever watch it. I didn't mind using my hands, I just killed a wasp in my kids' washroom the same way this morning.
frapr, you're right, I hadn't thought of that! Imagine if it were a 10-day trip. Yuck!
Shannon, LOL. Yes, the video is not for everybody.
Maya, thank you. My wife really takes care of them, and the reason they were inside was that there was some frost expected over the weekend. Re: the kids, we do our best to make sure they all keep their Spanish. It's very hard, though.
Malena, I'm not a fan either...
Kelly C, wow, that sounded dangerous! But sometimes one cannot control their fears...
Aisha, thanks, I will pass the compliment onto my wife...
Jean, I hope your daughter enjoys my kids' Spanish (and mine). I sounded very weird when I switched to English, I had a very strange accent.
All done! (for now...)
In some cases spiders would be good to have around your beautiful flowers. BUT NOT IN YOUR LIVING ROOM.
ReplyDeleteOh - as much as I know they are beneficial - they give me the creepy crawlies.
Oh my God, that is so gross. I would have completely freaked out if that had been me!!
ReplyDeleteI miss planting. Great wordless...
ReplyDeleteHappy WW!
Not going to watch. LOL That is too bad those pesky spiders arrived on the scene.

ReplyDeleteoh.. nasty..

Thanks!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
ReplyDelete*shakes head to remove spider images*
I have goosebumps....all. over :(
I like the Spanish Intro...The spiders, I could do without! You win the brave guy of the day award! (if there's not one there should be) ;)
ReplyDeleteHola Gabriel,
Puaj.
