Soccer craziness

(Please scroll for my Wordless Wednesday post today)

CanadaWell, it's March already, so the summer soccer season is just around the corner. It promises to be the busiest ever for me. Let's see:
  • After five seasons, Santi finally decided to go and try out for the "A" team. It was a very hard decision for him to make, as he is leaving very good friends behind, but also a necessary step to continue growing as a player. He did make the team, so he's very excited about it. He has been playing the indoor league with them and hasn't missed a game yet (well, he has NEVER missed a game in all these years).

  • The interesting thing is that while Santi will play for the "A" team starting this season, I'm still with the "B" team! This means that I will travelling with my team on Thursdays, whereas Santi will on Fridays. Of course, we will both go to all of the games!
  • Both teams will play in the WOYSL and some of the trips are long! For example, both will have to travel to Windsor (some 350 Km); my team gets to go to Sarnia and Chatham (both at about 250, 300 Km). And Santi's team will have to travel to Sault St. Marie (about 800 Km!). The league goes between May and September, and on top of all this, both teams will be playing between 4 and 5 weekend tournaments (the first one is in Sarnia for Santi and in Strathroy (150 Km away) for mine. I'm planning to create a blog for each one of the two teams, so stay tuned.
So, Thursdays and Fridays, check.
  • Carolina and Juan will both be playing in the House League on Mondays and Wednesdays. Juan will play from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Carolina from 7:15 PM to 8:15 PM. Their league goes between early May and mid July. I will be Juan's assistant coach, since I thought I would have a lot of free time.
Mondays and Wednesdays, check.
  • Florencia will also play! In her case, she will take part of the "Soccer Fun" program, which means she'll play on Saturdays, anytime between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Her season is the shortest, I believe.
Saturdays, check.

This leaves only Tuesdays and Sundays as soccer-free days. I *know* we will have practices on Sunday nights for both U-13 teams (Santi's and mine). I understand that Santi's practices could fall on Wednesdays, so Tuesdays is my day off. Unless we put a practice there too!

Santi's blog is called "Soccer crazy". This is craziness, indeed.

Entonces, jueves y viernes, ocupados.

Mariposa, Santi is really looking forward to this summer, especially since he realized that not only he wasn't going to lose his old friends, he would also get to play with them again in some tournaments (as a loaned player).
