Laser tagged

I took Santi, Carolina and Juan to Laser Quest yesterday, and we had a lot of fun. I had no idea what to do, but you could tell it wasn't the first time for my kids. We joined a group of very loud 7 year old boys, who were with two adults. Of course, the kids were so excited that I couldn't understand a word when they were giving us the instructions. My war name couldn't have been more appropriate: "Theoldfart".

I ran, hid and sought for some eternal 15 minutes, and was able to connect a few shots. But boy, did I stink. My daughter caught me, and then she would stay around to wait for my armor to be back online so she would shoot me again. She had 10 shots against me!

The other sign of how bad I was at that came to me at the end of the 'war'. I was shooting at a guy who was shooting back at me, and I couldn't understand why his armor was still lit. 15 seconds later, I realized why. It was a mirror.

I came in a comfortable ninth place out of 13 people. My kids came in second, third and fifth place. That means I was beaten by them, the two adults, and seven of the seven year old boys.

I better stick to my kids' Game Boy.
