Of work, soccer and mancaves

(En español más abajo)

CanadaWe had a very long, tiring weekend with Santi. It was much worse for him than for me, actually, as he had to work both days!

Our team played for the Ontario Cup, facing squads that are one division above. We did well, considering that we were missing our keeper and a couple of key players but unfortunately, we couldn't pick up a win.

Santi had to work both days, so he had to accommodate his working hours to the three games he had to play. This is why Saturday was such a crazy day: he worked from 6:00 to 10:00 AM, then played from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM; back to work from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM, and then another game from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. I don't think I had ever seen him so tired before.

Sunday was the same: work from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, then a game from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. From there, we went over some friends from lunch. Finally, I took Santi over his friend's place, where he stayed for a sleep over. At that point it was me the one who was tired beyond belief. I felt 100% drained of all energy.

Before I dropped Santi off, we went to Wal-Mart, and that's when we had an evil idea: we will buy something the day before Gaby comes back, just so she gets really mad at us, and then we return it the following day. It has to be something only two guys would consider necessary, so stupid the idea is. Best we've come up so far is a mini-fridge either for my washroom or instead of my end table, but we're not sure about that yet.  The argument is brilliant, though: “Imagine the benefits of having it, Gaby! I wake up, and even before I get out of bed, I can take all my medication with a bottle of Coke Zero from my fridge!!”. Brilliantly stupid.

Any help? Remember, it has to be something very stupid, that only two guys like Santi and I would consider a 'must have'... :-)

No creo haberlo visto tan cansado nunca.

  1. Hmm. The end-table bar fridge is a pretty good idea.
Trampoline? Riding mower? Or just the cover for it, over a whole bunch of boxes? Firepit? Electric turkey fryer? Hammock? Waterskis, a slip&slide, and a garden hose? You have a basement, right? Or stairs the "waterslide" could go down?
