Silly Monkey Stories #85 – Pulitzer material

(En español más abajo)

CanadaFebruary 2010 – Florencia (6)

Florencia likes to draw and paint. She has always enjoyed this, actually, and now that she’s in Grade 1 she has found a new interesting way to express herself and that is through words. Like many kids, she has been practicing her writing, and like I was at her age, she is also an avid reader. Both her reading and writing skills are excellent for her age, which is another thing she probably inherited from me.

Who hasn’t created little books and comic strips as a kid? I know I have, and many of them! I had a number of comic characters that I still remember and know how to draw. Well, Florencia is not the exception to that rule. I found the little book I’m reproducing below last week. I mean, it’s really little, as big as the Silly Monkey logo you see at the top of this post!

Nope. I just compared them. The book is smaller. :-)

  2. That is wonderful! It is great when kids love reading and writing so much they create their own books.

  3. That was excellent! My son makes mini books at school also, but they are not nearly that long at all. Maybe you need to start a blog for her this summer? :P
