Euphemisms

USAIn Canada, there are no ‘bathrooms’. All we have are ‘washrooms’, so I guess people go there to wash themselves.
Here in US, they don’t have ‘bathrooms’, but ‘restrooms’. I’m assuming go to this smelly rooms to take a nap…

But where do they poo?

  3. And, of course, wouldn't one "bathe" in a bathroom?

  7. Thanks to all for the opinions on such a critical issue! :-)

Patricia Rockwell, you were dead on. I should have written 'toilet', like Ana Maria said, not 'bathroom'.

  9. English people like euphemisms :D I also like the "powder room", always makes me think of the movie Pulp Fiction (where Uma Thurman says she goes to the powder room and take a lot of cocaine).

    In France, it's les toilettes.

In South America, I noticed a lot of way to say "male" and "female' on the door though, sometimes it was confusing. French toilets are stalls for both usually.

By the way, I tagged you in my last post!
