Silly Monkey Stories #35 - Blank

Canada20/Feb/2009 – Florencia (5)

I have talked several times about this ongoing game I have with Florencia, in which she cannot say the word 'dog' (or its equivalent in Spanish, 'perro') without me chasing her to tickle her. She has become quite good at avoiding saying the word whenever she senses I'm around (to be honest, I find her behaviour nothing short of amazing for her age); considering that the ban also includes words like 'puppy', 'doggie' or even 'canine' and 'bow-wow', you have to see how fast her reactions are when I try to trick her into saying any of those.

Because, of course, I'm always trying to trick her...

Florencia brought a big piece of paper with sentences she was supposed to read. I saw the fourth line and smelled the opportunity. Here's pretty much how the 'read test' went:

- What does it say here?
- My caterpillar can go slow.
- Pretty good, what about the next one?
- My rabbit can go fast.
- Great, just great. Next? (getting close here)
- My crab can go slow.
- Perfect! And the next one? (this is it!)
- (She was prepared for it!) My ... blank... can go fast.

She actually said the word 'blank'! The more we play this game, the more I feel like she's the Roadrunner and I'm Wile E. Coyote. I will never win...

Argentina 20/Feb/2009 – Florencia (5)

Nunca voy a ganar...
