Silly Monkey Stories #26 – Sleep over

Canada 20/Dec/2008 – Juan (10)

Is it me, or I’m featuring Juan way too much in this series? :-)

Juan had a birthday party last Friday (Last Friday!!! With that terrible snowstorm we had!), so I took him over his friend Zack. The party was a ‘sleep over’, this meaning that the guests (or most of them) would spend the night at the birthday boy’s place…

We went to pick him up on Saturday morning, because our neighbour Jean had invite all of us to a restaurant for brunch (Wasn’t she nice? There’s another Christmas story for you). We were supposed to meet at the restaurant at 11:00 AM, so we picked Juan up at 10:45 AM. Not only he wasn’t ready –why of course!- but he also let us know that he hadn’t slept at all, which makes me wonder why they call these ‘sleep over’ parties instead of ‘stay up over’ parties…

We got in the car and he was asleep about 2 minutes later… and look what happened next!

We got him to get up and walk (stumble) all the way to the carPudimos despertarlo y que caminara (a los tumbos hasta el auto)

Once he got in… boom! We hadn’t even left the parking loft yet!Una vez que subió… boom! Ni siquiera habíamos salido del estacionamiento!

He slept all the way back home, and went straight to bed once we got home (1:00 PM)

He got up at 8:00 PM, with absolutely no recollection of what had happened during the day. Ate dinner and went back to bed! :-)
