Friday's Feast #20

Appetizer - What was your favourite cartoon when you were a child?
Without a doubt, Droopy!

I love Droopy (and his nemesis Spike), and I still watch those cartoons every time I can (and my kids have learned to enjoy them as well). I think I can probably recite every Tex Avery cartoon from memory.

Soup - Pretend you are about to get a new pet.  Which animal would you pick, and what would you name it?
I had all kinds of pets when I was a kid, and I would love to have a dog again. But it's impossible. First of all, I wouldn't date to have a pet here, when they have to spend the whole winter inside because of the weather. Second, I don't think I can afford having a pet. Finally, and most importantly, my son Juan is allergic to both cats and dogs.

Salad - On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy getting all dressed up for a special occasion?
Oh, I will go with a 10. I love getting all dressed up for a special occasion. I would even put on my tux if Gaby allowed me!

Main Course - What kind of music do you listen to while you drive?
My dear wife bought me an iPod last week, so I've been filling it with Argentine rock from the 70's and 80's, which I love. If I'm not listening to that, then I listen to the local AM station (570 News)

Dessert - When was the last time you bought a clock?  And in which room did you put it?
I don't remember buying a clock, EVER. The ones we have at home were all wedding gifts, which means they've been here for sixteen years!

  1. getting a pet in a small apartment is impossible for me and my family, so we have refrained from getting one! :)

  2. I agree about not wanting to keep dogs locked up all Winter. I'm South African, so that's not a problem, 2 of our dogs live outside year round - I'd hate to see them cooped up, they'd go nuts!! I enjoyed your feast!
    Have a good weekend :-)

  3. I'm baaack! Seems like I was just here! lol

Another nice feast! I totally forgot about Droopy and Spike! Too funny!

I'm not familiar with Argentine rock... I will have to check that out! I like latin influenced music so I would probably like that too!

Have a great weekend and please join my feast if you can.

    Just Some Thoughts

Hi Gabriel -- sorry I have not visited you in a while, I had lots of trouble with your blog loading, it would get stuck. I missed visiting!

    Anyways, great feast.
Do you know when we were without a dog, we found a sturdy cardboard cut out of one and used him. He was the perfect dog! No problems or bills or barking! The neighbors did not mind him at all. LOL

Anyways, if you want a laugh, stop on by and read my extra bonus clock story.

  6. Pets... i love pets.
I had hundreds of them... literally.
Birds, a lot. A hare, a "tero", a duck, a little "ñandu", several dogs, a rooster, hens, "martinetas"... Wow..
Now, i have a dog, by few days cause it is going to live in the farm. Is too big for my house, in spite of the park we have.
And i'm looking for another dog, perhaps another fox-terrier.
About the radio... Gaby, nice radio, but not music... boooooooring :-)
Better i keep listenin Boomer or Rithme.

  7. Droopy rules. Do you remember that one about the cows fighting the sheep over some land? I must have seen it 100 times but it still makes me laugh.

Gabriel -- thanks so much for the Spanish names for the Jetsons and Flintstones. My children really enjoyed that. My daughter has been taking Spanish for three years now and has held the highest grade in the entire school! So your post/comment was very special.

    Thanks again.

  9. Jean, I have many more of those if you want! :-)

Take the Muppets, for example: how about "René" instead of "Kermit"? Or "Figueredo" instead of "Fozzie"? Gonzo kept his name, though, and so did Miss Piggy. :-)

    Scooter was Ciriaco! :-)))

  10. More examples...
Disney: Goofy is "Tribilin", and i don't remember the english names for "Tio Rico", "Giro Sintornillos", "Glad Consuerte", etc.
Another cartoons: Duffy Duck--"Pato Lucas", Woody Woodpecker--"Pajaro Loco", Tweety--"Piolin", Top Cat--"Don Gato", Wally Gator--"Largarto Juancho".
    And continues...
